News!!! Fight the Big Bull released our debut record at the beginning of September on Clean Feed Records. We have been fortunate to receive some great press including reviews in Downbeat, All About Jazz New York, PopMatters and also two wonderful features on NPR.

In February Mr. Steven Bernstein will be visiting Richmond to perform a handful of concerts with us as well as record a new album with us. Keep up with things more closely on our MySpace or on the website.

Also we are in the very very beginning stages of perhaps a collaboration with Fat Cat Records' David Karsten Daniels

The Great White Jenkins is in the midst of recording our new album in my attic. We are also being featured on a new record from Karl Blau's subscription CD label Kelp Monthly.

I somehow managed to gain the significant privilege of doing some production work on Anousheh Khalili's upcoming record. I am summoning my inner Smokey Robinson and Sly Stone and working my best to make number one hits. The plan is to get Fight the Big Bull in as the backing band so keep your ear to the ground on this one, it could be quite special.

All About Jazz New York Review, September 8, 2008

"Dying Will Be Easy"

Fight the Big Bull describes itself on MySpace as 'champions of curiosity'. This candid qualifier is doubly introspective because it denotes both the whimsy and the intellectual maturity of their latest recording Dying Will Be Easy. The Richmond-based nonet, who played at Issue Project Room Aug. 6th, is led by guitarist Matt White, who also composed the album's four tracks, which span a little more than half an hour. It is a wholly remarkable feat that an album with so few tracks can be so captivating.
